A Little About The Pearl District in Portland, Oregon:
From a historically industrial neighborhood to a complete rebirth in the 1990s, Portland’s Pearl District has absolutely transformed into an urban residential oasis. It has embraced the very essence of the ideal urbanism including mixed use buildings with a large variety of sustainable choices. Green choices in living and working are everywhere as walkable neighborhoods have become a requirement in Portland in city living, but The Pearl is the quintessential choice of all of these.
The Pearl District is relatively small covering about 100 city blocks between the Willamette, Downtown Portland and The Northwest District. The rough boundaries of The Pearl District are the Fremont Bridge on the North side, NW Broadway on the East side (although to NW 9th Ave is still embraced), W Burnside St on the South, and 405 Freeway to the West.
