Marshall-Wells Lofts In The Pearl District

The Marshall-Wells Lofts  1420 NW Lovejoy St, Portland OR 97209

Marshall Wells Lofts Portland OR

The Marshall-Wells Lofts on the corner of 14th and Lovejoy are in a historic building located on the Northwest end of the Pearl District.  Originally built in 1910, this beautifully renovated historic Portland loft project consists of 164 condominium units on 7 floors.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, this historic warehouse was once a Marshall Wells Hardware Company building.   It is the only surviving building of the three that the company owned and housed all of the basics of a hardware store of the time.   In 2001, The Business Journal wrote an article about the renovation of the building expressing the eagerness of the neighborhood for the project:

Pearl District Neighborhood Association spokeswoman Guenevere Millius said renovation of the dilapidated, dreary warehouse is welcome. “This is one of the better uses we’ve seen,” she said. “It will bring life to the neighborhood.”

Marshall Wells Lofts AtriumSo what should one expect from a loft in this historic building?  Pearl District lofts are known for their wide open spaces, and The Marshall-Wells Lofts deliver in the most authentic way.  These lofts already were genuine Portland lofts originally. High ceilings and lots of natural light pouring in from its large industrial windows even on a Portland dreary day.
